Fire hits residential area in Malate, Manila

A fire broke out in a residential area in Malate, Manila on Friday night.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire started at 9 p.m. on Leveriza Street in Barangay 705, according to a report by Christian Maño on Dobol B TV on Saturday.

The fire reached the second alarm before it was put out at 12:03 a.m. Saturday.

Around 100 houses were damaged in the fire.

The BFP is still conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire and estimated cost of property damage.

No casualties were reported as of posting time. 

The local government unit meanwhile put up a temporary evacuation center near the affected area to shelter residents. -KG, GMA Integrated News
