ORANI, Bataan (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has commenced construction of a seven-kilometer road leading to the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Antennae in Abucay, Bataan.

The P100-million project, that was funded under the 2023 General Appropriations Act, is in barangay Capitangan.

DPWH Bataan 1st District Engineer Erlindo Flores Jr. said the infrastructure aims to enhance travel efficiency and ensure safer journeys by implementing essential features such as slope protection, drainage systems, and solar streetlights along critical sections.

It prioritizes accessibility to the PCG facility which is a vital communication hub for maritime operations between ports and vessels.

The road likewise holds potential as a farm-to-market route, opening doors for future eco-tourism development.
