CLARK FREEPORT — Clark Water, a subsidiary of Manila Water Philippine Ventures (MWPV) and the sole water and wastewater service provider in this freeport zone, has announced an investment of P5.56 billion in capital expenditures for service improvement projects within the area.
This investment aligns with the company’s dedication to providing high-quality and sustainable water services to support the CFZ’s development goals.
“Clark Water fully supports the goal of making CFZ a premier business and tourism destination by providing locators with quality and sustainable water and wastewater services,” read a post on the MWPV website.
Under the its 2023-2040 Service Improvement Plan, presented during a public consultation for the 2022 rate rebasing, MWPV chief operating officer and Clark Water president Melvin John Tan underscored the allocation of funds for infrastructure development aimed at enhancing water security, service quality, accessibility, continuity, and regulatory compliance.
“With this, Clark Water will continue with its source development programs to increase the current supply by 22% and is likewise set to embark on the exploration of sustainable water sources and water reuse,” furthered the MWPV post.
“Having consistently delivered its service obligations to the CFZ locators, the business unit commits to further enhance water service quality and reliability through the construction of additional water treatment plants and storage facilities. Clark Water will also continue to build and expand its water and sewer network and implement effective maintenance and rehabilitation of its existing network,” it added.
Clark Water general manager Lyn Zamora emphasized that these projects not only aim to enhance customer service but also to support the CFZ and the Province of Pampanga as key investment hubs in the Philippines.
Since assuming operations in 2000, Clark Water’s investment strategy has resulted in 24/7 availability of water supply, 99.9% water supply coverage, 100% wastewater service coverage, and 100% water quality compliance with the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water.
Clark Water was also able to reduce non-revenue water (NRW) from 55% in 2000 to 6% in 2023, recovering a volume of 20 million liters per day.
At present, Clark Water is serving more than 1,000 locators in the CFZ, with around 2,000 water service connections.
