PASAY CITY – Clark Development Corp. president and CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera pushed to the forefront her advocacies of putting people first and reinvention in leadership at a recent women empowerment conference here.

Reflecting on her own upbringing, Devanadera underscored the importance of serving and uplifting others during the “Women at the Helm” session of the Gender and Development event organized by the Governance Commission for Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GCG) on March 20 at the Agoncillo Halls of the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).

“Our successes are only meaningful when our employees are happy and fulfilled. Their well-being is our priority,” the CDC chief said.

Devanadera’s commitment to prioritizing people is made evident through fair treatment and welfare enhancements for CDC employees under her leadership. She expressed gratitude to the GCG for approving the CDC’s appeal for an improved Compensation and Position Classification System.

“It’s about working together, regardless of our differences, to achieve our common goals,” she noted.

Devanadera highlighted the necessity of adapting and evolving to address the needs of both the organization and its people. “Reinventing oneself is crucial in leadership. It’s about staying relevant and responsive to the evolving demands of our workforce and stakeholders.”

Devanadera vowed to cultivate a culture of dynamism and empathy within the CDC and its surrounding community. “Putting people first isn’t just a mantra; it’s the foundation of effective leadership. Together, we can create a workplace where everyone thrives.”

The CDC president’s co-panelists were Ma. Lynette Ortiz, president and CEO of Land Bank of the Philippines, and Maria Margarita Nograles, COO of the Tourism Promotions Board.

It can be recalled that in her first State of the Clark Freeport Address in 2023, Devanadera expressed her desire to be a good public servant.

“I would like to express my gratitude for staying with me, for supporting me, and best of all, for believing in me. Ang tanging bagay na nais kong ipakita sa inyo ay ang aking hangarin na maging isang mabuting lingkod bayan,” said the 14th president of the CDC to the officials and employees of the state-run corporation.
