MANILA, Philippines — Actress Bea Alonzo and businessman Ferdinand Vincent Co may be preparing to marry after their names appeared in marriage banns read Sunday at St. Peter the Apostle Parish in Manila.
The banns listed Co as “Ferdinand Vincent Pe Co – Groom” and Alonzo under her legal name, Phylbert Angelli Escalante Ranollo – Bride. In the Catholic Church, marriage banns are public notices read in the parishes of both the bride and groom for three consecutive Sundays to allow anyone to raise possible legal or canonical objections before the ceremony.
The appearance of their names during a livestreamed Mass briefly drew attention online.
Alonzo confirmed in August 2025 that she was in a relationship with Co, following months of speculation and public sightings. When asked about engagement rumors a month later, the actress said she preferred to keep details private.
The couple first sparked dating speculation in May 2025 after sharing photos from trips in Andalucía, appearing in the same locations. They later made their first major public appearance together at the Puregold OPM Con 2025 held at the Philippine Arena in July.
Co, 45, serves as president and director of Puregold Price Club, one of the country’s largest supermarket operators. He is the son of retail magnates Lucio Co and Susan Co, whose family controls the listed conglomerate Cosco Capital and other major ventures, including S&R Shopping, liquor importation, and commercial real estate.
Alonzo, 38, is set to return to television with the upcoming series “Whispers From Heaven.”
It remains unclear when or where the wedding might take place, or whether the couple plans a public celebration.
