ANGELES CITY — The administration of Mayor Carmelo ‘Pogi’ Lazatin Jr., has been awarded anew as “Fully Compliant” in the 24th Gawad Kalasag Awards held at the Laus Events Center in the City of San Fernando on Nov. 28.
The recognition reflects the effective strategies and proactive measures implemented by the city risk reduction and management council to ensure safety and resilience against disasters.
Lazatin acknowledged the efforts and hard work of the ACDRRMO headed by Rodolfo Simeon for ensuring a disaster-prepared city.
“We are very proud of this achievement. Maraming salamat po sa dedikasyon at walang sawang pagtatrabaho ng ating team sa pagseguro sa kapakanan ng ating mga kababayan,” Lazatin said.
The Gawad Kalasag Awards, which celebrate exemplary practices in disaster risk reduction and management, serve as a benchmark for local government units across the Philippines.
“This award motivates us to continue to ensure safety and resilience against disaster,” Simeon said.
This is the second Gawad Kalasag Award for Angeles City under Mayor Lazatin. In 2023, Angeles City was also cited for being “Fully Compliant.” Angeles CIO
