Final death toll from Spain’s rail disaster is 45: officials

MADRID, Spain – Spanish officials announced Thursday that with all autopsies of the victims now completed, the final death toll of the high-speed trains disaster was 45.

The CID, the official body handling data following Sunday’s crash, made the announcement in a statement, adding that the final two bodies recovered on Thursday had been identified. — Agence France Presse
