The Zonta Club of Cagayan de Oro 1 have entered into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Puntod Barangay Council headed by barangay captain Rexie A. Tinampay to support the women’s projects of the barangay which are also aligned with the goals and objectives of Zonta Club Cagayan de Oro 1.
The first project is the ” Bigasan sa Puntod “which aims to:
- provide livelihood to the marginalize women of Puntod.
- provide income through buying and selling rice to the public.
- give women the needed entrepreneurial skills in running a small business.
It will be managed by the Barangay Women’s Development Association (BWDA) of Puntod and will be supervised and monitored by Zontian and barangay Puntod treasurer Lina Faburada.
” Bigasan sa Puntod ” is spearheaded by Zonta Past Area Director Dr. Josephine G. Go with committee members Zontians Dr. Judee Ann Go-See, Rose Paras, Denvi Cabrera, Lily Lim and Gloria See who provided the seed money for the bigasan.
This partnership aims to help uplift the lives of the women in barangay Puntod by providing them with sustainable livelihood opportunities.
