CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: The Metro Pacific Water Inc (Metropac) has extended 12 days, the notice of water disconnection of water supply to Cagayan de Oro City, City Councilor James Judith announced Friday, March 14, 2024.

Judith, made the annoincement nduring the fourth and last day of the hearing of the fact-finding committee task to review the contract between rhe Cagayan de Oro Water Diarrict and the Cagayan de Oro Bulk Water Inc. (COBI).

Judith, Chair of the Fact-finding committee, read a letter purportedly by Manny Pangilinan, Meteropac Pres., addressed to City Councilor Edgar Cabanlas, majority floor leader of the City Council, extending the notice of water disconnection to April 12, 2024.

COBi, a bulk water supplier is part of the Metropac consortium, issed a final notice of water disconnection to COWD on March 31, 2024 unless COWD pays its water bill of more than P 426 million.

In his letter dated March 25, 2024, Pangilinan said that the notice of disconnection is extended to April 12, 2024 without prejudice in exercising legal remedies should COWD still fail to settle the water bills
