District Governor-Elect Gilda “Gigi” Go
A member of the Rotary Club of Kalayaan Cagayan de Oro, Padayhag is connected with the City Health Office of Iligan City. As district chair for maternal and child health, Padayhag will ensure that RI 3870 will be true to Rotary’s goal of making high quality health care available to vulnerable mothers and children. She will be part of the district’s leadership team for RY 2023-2024 which will start this June, overseeing 44 clubs in the provinces of Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, North Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao, Camiguin and Cagayan de Oro City. Maternal and child health is one of Rotary’s seven areas of focus. Rotary clubs come up with projects that provide education, immunizations, birth kits and mobile health clinics. Women are taught how to prevent mother to infant HIV transmission, how to breast-feed and how to protect themselves and their children from disease so that they can live longer and grow stronger. “Thank you Doc Ardel for accepting the assignment,” DGE Go said. “With you in the District Team, I am sure we will be able to make a difference in the lives of the mothers and children in our local communities.”
