Retired Executive Judge killed in CDO road mishaps

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: A retired executive judge of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) in Caraga Region was killed while seven others injured in a road mishap Cagayan de Oro City, the police said Monday.

Lt. Col. Evan Viñas, the spokesperson for the Cagayan de Oro City Police, identified the lone fatality as Gael Paderanga, a retired RTC Executive Judge assigned in Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte, part of the Caraga Region.

Injured were Joshua JR Asuela, 46, of Sitio Patpat, part of the village of Mambuaya, Cagayan de Oro City, wife Ana Louella, 43, and children: Joshua, 16, Eliza, 14, Louise, 12, Theofore, 7, and their Aunt Louella (sister of Mrs. Asuela).

Initial investigation disclosed that the car driven by Paderanga, a black Sorento, plate number ADA 3270 figured in a head on collision with the car driven by Asuela, a green Toyota Revo, plate number WKX 420 along the old airport road in Limbia, Cagayan de Oro Sunday.

Viñas said that Paderanga was rushed to the nearest government hospital in Carmen but thw attending physician declared him dead on arrival.

He said that the injured Asuela family was also rushed to a hospital where they are now undergoing treatment.

He said an investigation of the mishap is still going.
