CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–The Police Regional Office (PRO)-10, spearheaded by PRO-10 Regional Director Lawrence Coop and Misamis Occidental Governor Henry Oaminal Sr., celebrated its 32nd Philippine National Police (PNP) Foundation Day at Camp 1Lt. Vicente G. Alagar, here, February 13.

“Today’s celebration is a recognition of the exemplary service from the men and women of the PRO-10 who gave significant accomplishment on the strategic mandate of serving and protecting the community of Region-10, on the other hand, it is also the day of remembering our fallen brothers who passed away during service,” PRO-10 Deputy Regional Director for Administration Bgen Benedicto Pintor said.

With the theme, “Patuloy na Serbisyong Publiko, handog ng Pambansang Kapulisan na may Malasakit, Kaayusan, at Kapayapaan tungo sa Kaunlaran ng ating Bayang,” this year’s theme aims to underscore the importance of compassion in the police service towards peace and order.

Police personnel from various provinces in Northern Mindanao were recognized and awarded by the PRO-10 Regional Director and their special guest, Misamis Occidental Gov. Oaminal.

Oaminal lauded the police personnel for their sacrifice and service and supported the agency’s thrust toward a safe and secure Northern Mindanao free from criminality and danger.

Through the passage of Republic Act No. 6975, the Philippine National Police (PNP) was established under a reorganized Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) in December 1990. (VPSB/PIA-10)
