PBBM visits CDO for Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is expected to grace the opening of the two day Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair in Cagayan de Oro.

According a press conference hosted by the  office of Rep. Lordan Suan (1st District, Cagayan de Oro), the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair will be held in Cagayan de Oro City on May 16-17, 2024.

Some 38 national government agencies will deliver no less than 213 types of services to 30,000 beneficiaries. P286-milllion worth of programs and services will be delivered, including P180-million in cash assistance.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development will continue to serve some 26,000 individual AICS beneficiaries.

House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez will be the Keynote Speaker and Guest of Honor in the Opening Program to be held at the  Dr. Ricardo E. Rotoras Hall, University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) on May 16.

According to 1st District Assistant Director Bert Amplayo, PBBM has appointed Rep. Suan to head the preparations for the “Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyo Fair” which will involve the DSWD, DOLE, CHED, DFA, and other government agencies.

Amplayo said it is a great honor and privilege for Rep. Suan to be personally selected by PBBM to head the BPSF so the ordinary citizen can directly benefit from government services.

Amplayo also revealed that President Marcos himself is scheduled to grace the inaugural day of the two-day caravan on May 16.

“We can expect the presence of our President on the first day,” Amplayo said.

According to Department of Trade and Industry Region X Director Ruel Paclipan,  the fair will feature the introduction of the Google Career Certificate, the Google Career Certificate, an online training program sponsored by Google, will be introduced during the fair with 2,000 of the 25,000 slots available nationwide, allocated for Northern Mindanao.

The Oro Chamber encouraged business owners to participate by availing themselves of free business registration offered by participating agencies.

TESDA Region X Director Dan Navarro said their agency will facilitate the accreditation of vocational course completers, provide allowances to beneficiaries, and conduct profiling during the fair. He further encouraged residents to avail themselves of vocational-technical (VocTech) trainings from TESDA, such as virtual welding.
