CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City— Personnel from the 1005th Maneuver Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 10, in coordination with Pantar Municipal Police Station, successfully intercepted smuggled cigarettes during an intensified checkpoint operation at RBCP, Brgy. Campong, Pantar, Lanao del Norte, on February 17, 2025.
While conducting checkpoint, operating unit saw in plain view cigarettes inside the car believed to be smuggled. This successfully led to the confiscation of illegal cigarettes from two vehicles: a red mica Toyota Vios and a blue Toyota Vios. The seized contraband included 450 reams of Green New Far brand cigarettes, 186 reams of Red New Berlin brand cigarettes, and 400 reams of Modern cigarettes with an estimated market value of PhP828,800.00.
The driver failed to present the necessary documentation for the cigarettes, resulting in the arrest of three individuals at the scene. Apprehended individuals were identified as alias “Enting”, 42 years old, “Norman”, 45 years old, and “Sanny”, 32 years old, all residents of Lanao del Norte.
The confiscated smuggled cigarettes, along with the vehicles and suspects, were brought to Pantar MPS for proper documentation and subsequently turned over to the Bureau of Customs (BOC).
PBGEN JAYSEN C DE GUZMAN, Regional Director, PRO10, praised the operating personnel for their relentless efforts in the ongoing fight against smuggling in the region.
“Patuloy po nating paiigtingin ang presensya ng kapulisan, lalo na sa mga border control points sa buong Rehiyon 10, upang mapigilan ang pagpasok ng mga ilegal na gawain sa ating nasasakupan,” he said.
