In a resounding victory for the province, Misamis Oriental’s Provincial Government has clinched the coveted title of Regional Winner in the 2023 Search for Best PESO (Public Employment Service Office).
This accolade, bestowed upon them by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), marks a significant milestone in their continuous commitment to enhancing employment opportunities and economic stability within the province.
The Provincial Government was honored with a distinguished Plaque of Recognition, underscoring their exemplary performance and proactive initiatives in employment facilitation. PESO Misamis Oriental, integral to this achievement, meticulously compiled a comprehensive portfolio that highlighted their innovative strategies and impactful interventions. Eight meticulously crafted bound books were submitted to DOLE, illustrating the province’s holistic approach and the PESO’s pivotal role in extending DOLE’s services at the grassroots level.
This latest triumph adds to Misamis Oriental’s impressive track record, having clinched the title in the 1st Class Provincial Category for six consecutive years. The journey began in 2018 with the recognition as Best Performing PESO Regional Winner, a title they subsequently defended and expanded upon each year. Notably, their dedication was recognized nationally in 2019 and 2020 with nominations for the prestigious Secretary’s Bayanihan Service Award.
The Search for Best PESO is more than just a competition; it serves as a vital platform to honor the pivotal role PESOs play in the local economy. These offices serve as essential hubs for labor market information, offering crucial services such as job referrals, career guidance, and employment coaching to senior high school and college graduates. Misamis Oriental’s consistent success underscores their commitment to fostering a thriving workforce, effectively bridging the gap between job seekers and employers.
