CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 (DA-RFO 10) spearheaded by its Regional Executive Director Jose Apollo Y. Pacamalan continues the distribution of vegetable seeds to the localities in Northern Mindanao.
On June 14, DA-10 Senior Agriculturist Richan D. Lacanaria and High Value Crops Development Program focal person Kersten S. Pagalan handed over 50 sachets of assorted vegetable seeds to LGU Alubijid Agriculturist II Pio Danilo P. Cuadra.
The provisions will be distributed to the gardeners and farmers in the vegetable-producing barangays of Alubijid town, and since it is wet season, they will be able to cultivate crops and sell their produce to the neighboring towns in Misamis Oriental, Cuadra said.
Further, said initiative is anchored on Agriculture Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel, Jr.’s comprehensive plan which aims to increase agricultural productivity, lower food cost, and ensure food security and a strong partnership with farmers and fisherfolk, and the private sector.# (MPMT)
