KYOGOJO Engineering and Water Service Cooperative general manager Jed Lasmarias said their federation can supply 30,000 cubic meters of water a day to Cagayan de Oro City both as a utility and as a bulk supplier.
This is in light of a looming water crisis in the city because of a dispute of P426 million in water rates between Cagayan de Oro Water District and its bulk supplier Cagayan de Oro Bulk Water, Inc. which neither entity is budging. COBI is giving COWD until April 12 to pay up its debt or face disconnection of 80,000 cubic meters a day supplying 40,000 residential, commercial and industrial users. But COWD has cited fotce majeure in disregarding the amount which equates to the increases of the rate since 2021.
