The governor, during his speech, challenged students to give importance to the sacrifices of their parents as they always want to give their children to become professionals.

He said finishing their college education is the ultimate way to prove to their parents that they value their sacrifices even in the hardest times of their lives because of poverty.

“This is an opportunity nga kamong tanan maka iskwela. Palihog bugtii ang ilang kahago. Palihog pagtarong mo ug iskwela,” the governor told the scholars in attendance.

EMANO’S ORIGINAL PROJECT
The governor reminded the scholars that IKNB was originally started by former Governor Yevgeny “Bambi” Emano but he continued it because he saw that this is a great opportunity for the poor but deserving students to finish college.

During the term of former Governor and now Congressman Bambi Emano, it was named “Iskolar Ko Ni Bambi” or IKNB but during the incumbency of Governor Unabia it was renamed “Iskolar Ko Ng Bayan,” with the same acronym.

The people and provincial officials in attendance were also entertained with dances and contests. There was also a raffle of a 32 inches TV and cash prizes that also made the activity livelier and interesting for everyone, most especially the 3559 scholars in attendance and their parents.
