DOLE grants P7.3-M DILP livelihood assistance to Oro workers

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10, through the Cagayan de Oro Field Office (CDO FO), led by Provincial Director Emmanuel G. Toledo, turned over two checks amounting to P7,362,100 to 761 beneficiaries from the different barangays of the city at the Office of the OIC-Regional Director, 5th Floor of Trinidad Building, here.

Following the recently conducted orientation on the updated Department of Labor and Employment Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) implementation guidelines for DOLE Accredited Co-Partners, the wheels are in motion for further implementation of livelihood projects.

OIC-Regional Director Estrella U. Pahalla turned over the checks to Macajalar Wharf Porter’s Association-Federation of Free Workers Multipurpose Cooperative and 1 and ALL Technical School, Incorporated.

Pahalla expressed her gratitude to the ACPs for taking on the daunting responsibility of ensuring that the implementation of the livelihood assistance goes as smoothly as possible, all the while keeping the quality of the start-up through starter kits consistent and profitable for the beneficiaries. She also hopes that this will not be the first and last opportunity for us to collaborate together.

Villaruel S. Jumawid from Macajalar Wharf Porter’s Association, Federation of Free Workers Multipurpose Cooperative, received a check amounting to P3,600,000, which will serve 202 beneficiaries, of whom 100 are Parents of Child Laborers (PCL).

On the other hand, Maria Jocelyn N. Co, from 1 and ALL Technical School received a check amounting to P3,762,100, which will support livelihood projects for 559 beneficiaries, of whom 14 are individual beneficiaries and the rest belong to 15 separate groups and organizations.

Toledo gave his message of gratitude to these ACPs, as they will be handling beneficiaries. He shared how important these ACPs are in making resources accessible, especially to disadvantaged members of society and displaced workers. He believes that this is only the start of a fruitful year of DILP implementation and is hopeful that through this collaboration, Kagay-Anons will feel the presence and assistance of the government—that it is ready to help them in their dire need.
