In accordance with the annual observance of Rabies Awareness Month every month in March, the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office 10 is advised to regularly vaccinate domesticated dogs and cats to prevent the disease of rabies in the region.
According to DA-10 rabies coordinator Oryza Kristy N. In the past years, more than 74 cases of rabies were recorded at the Regional Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (RADDL) in Northern Mindanao, where Dr. emphasized. The responsible ownership of those who are raised is an important part of the DA’s strategy against this disease.
Rabies is one of the eleven deadly diseases in animals that cause the death of nearly 250 Filipinos every year. While it is fatal, it is preventable through vaccination.
