CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Cagayan de Oro City Mayor Rolando Uy on Thursday exhorted more than 4,000 city government workers and stakeholders to support his incumbency to attain sustainable progress and development.
The City Executive issued the statement in a speech highlighting his first state of the city address (SOCA) as Cagayan de Oro City marked its 73rd Charter Day Anniversary here Thursday.
Uy delivered the SOCA to coincide with the inaugural opening of the city’s 10,500 square-meter convention center in the hinterland village of Taguanao here.
In his first SOCA, Uy reported the city’s gradual recovery from the losses incurred during the COVID 19 virus pandemic, which started in 2019.
“During the COVID 19 pandemic, we witnessed Cagayan de Oro City’s tenacity as the center of commerce and city’s resiliency as the COVID 19 referral center in Northern Mindanao,” Uy said.
Elected as City Mayor in 2021, Uy immediately introduced the program of his administration known as the “RISE Development Framework.”
RISE stands for regional leadership, institutional development, safety and human development, which focus on the delivery of basic services, human development, and sustainable economic progress.
He said that the RISE Development Framework aims to alleviate the family’s per capita income and the introduction of technology for human development.
Uy reported that as of March 2023, the city’s business registration increased 44 per cent and the revenue collection reaching P 3.3 billion sitting the course of achieving the P 7 billion annual budget in 2023.
In his closing statement, Uy urged the city government employees, the business community and stakeholders to stay with him as partners in the attainment of sustainable economic and social development for the benefit of the Cagayanons and its neighbors.
