CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–The Cagayan de Oro City Civil Registry System (CRS) Outlet goes live, May 4, with the system enhancement and implementation of the new system in the Civil Registry System-Information Technology Project 2 (CRS-ITP2).
The launch started with a ceremonial ribbon cutting on the premises of the CDO CRS Outlet, symbolizing the start of the implementation of CRS-ITP2, led by Officer-in-Charge of PSA Regional Statistical Services Office 10 Dr. Janith C. Aves, Officer in Charge of the Civil Registration and Administrative Support Division Jose B. Tuason, Jr., Chief Statistical Specialist of Statistical Operations and Coordination Division Sarah B. Balagbis, and Unisys Regional Operations Lead Cristina Callao.
Clients who answered correctly during trivia received a T-shirt, a fan, and a booklet.
The Civil Registry System Information Technology Project Phase 2 (CRS-ITP2) involves the computerization of the civil registry operations of the PSA and is designed to collect, access, store, maintain, and manage civil registry documents and the specimen signatures of all city and municipal registrars using imaging technology.
It will also include the production of vital statistics, make the civil registry services available nationwide through the CRS outlets and other authorized partners, and convert and migrate the existing data in the current production database of the CRS-ITP to the database of the CRS-ITP2.
New features of CRS-ITP2 include security paper, QR codes on every page of civil registry documents to verify authenticity, unique transaction numbers per document, and serial numbers. Documents are also assigned, where appropriate, a birth reference number, marriage reference number, or death reference number.
The new system allows citizens to transact for copy issuance such as birth, cenomar, cenodeath, marriage, and death certificates, as well as authentication. It also makes the documents viewable online, and viewers can transact for docprint for this document to be printed on security paper.
