CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)–To further serve the people of the city and assist various regional offices of northern Mindanao, Cagayan de Oro City Second District Rep. Rufus B. Rodriguez together with Cagayan de Oro City Vice Mayor Jocelyn Rodriguez held a consultative meeting with the regional heads of various government agencies, March 17.
“This initiative is in order to improve the quality of public service, particularly in implementing national laws, policies, plans, and programs of the departments through economical, efficient, and effective administration and in coordinating with the local government unit, especially, Cagayan de Oro City as the host city of various regional offices of Northern Mindanao,” Cagayan de Oro City Vice Mayor Jocelyn Rodriguez said.
About 60 regional directors and agency heads from different national government agencies were at the meeting. This gave the agencies a chance to talk about their programs and projects, which the Rodriguez siblings could help with both locally and nationally.
“This can be a good start for all of us because I would like to have a continuous dialogue with all of you as an organization because you are the representative of the national government here in Region 10. Our only objective is to serve our people in Region 10, Cagayan de Oro City, and the Philippines,” 2nd District Representative Rufus B. Rodriguez said.
During the six-hour meeting, the agencies and officials talked about issues like the budget for building office buildings, the need for more plantilla positions for job order employees, the need for project funding for more emergency vehicles, and more.
The solons promised to keep track of all the requests made by the regional directors in Congress, especially when it came to the budgets for their programs and projects. Meanwhile, for local concerns and requests, Vice Mayor Rodriguez shared that she will try her best to help the agencies lobby their agendas to the City Mayor for approval.
Aside from the consultative meetings with the regional directors, the siblings also had the same meeting with the regional, provincial, and city prosecutors last Thursday, March 9. (JAKA/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
