CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Bloodletting and other medical checkups highlighted the recently held “Misor Heart’s Day’ held at the Provincial Capitol Grounds Misamis Oriental.
The activity was spearheaded by the Cardio-vascular Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC) and being collaborated by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and the Provincial Government of Misamis oriental.
Ms Claire I. Estrada, RN, and Provincial Nurse told the Mindanao Daily News that among the services offered during the daylong celebration include, free consultation, bloodletting and hands on only CPR, among others.
Ms Estrada reported that there were 92 bags collected for the bloodletting and about 155 patients were served for the CPR, 65 ang nagpaticipate.
She also added that the said event would not have been very successful without the total support of other NMMC partners, including the Cagayan de Oro City POlice Office (Cocpo), represented by Salvador Colonel Radam; PNP Provincial Office headed by Pcol Choli Jun P Caduyac; and the Coastguard headed by District Commander.
“We are also very happy that the Provincial Health was represented by PHO Consultant and Vice Mayor Rommel Maslog of Talisayan, Misamis Oriental,” Estrada said.
Earlier, Provincial Governor Peter M. Unabia told reporters that aside from education, health is also one of the flagship programs of his administration, thus the provincial government always welcomes any collaboration efforts with the Northern Mindanao Medical Center.
“Ang health usa usab sa atong pagagatutukan kay importante nga healthy ang atong katawhan sa probinsya, the provincial governor earlier told reporters.
