The remains of Yitshak Cohen, the Israeli boyfriend of pageant contestant Geneva Lopez, are set to be brought back to Tel Aviv on Wednesday evening.
Lopez and Cohen’s bodies were found in Capas, Tarlac over the weekend. Each bore two gunshot wounds.
According to a 24 Oras report by Maki Pulido, Cohen’s remains were delivered to the Cargo Terminal in Pasay City to be put on the flight carrying Cohen’s brother back to Israel.
“Wala siyang advice na gagalawin. Basta naka-wrap siya sa cadaver bag, placed in a wooden casket, then inside the crate and sealing. Naka sealed siya kung ano requirement ng airline,” said Rizal Funeral Homes funeral director Jet Enriquez.
(He didn’t advise us to do anything. He’s wrapped in a cadaver bag, placed in a wooden casket, then inside the crate and sealing. He’s sealed according to the requirement of the airline)
Lopez was cremated on Sunday. Her family plans to hold her funeral on Friday, after which they will focus on the investigation and the filing of charges against the suspects.
Suspect Michael Angelo Guiang, a former police officer, is the alleged mastermind, while police officer Rommel Abuzo and Jeffrey Santos were the supposed gunmen.
“Kung mayroon mang pinakamayroon talagang motibo para patayin itong dalawang biktima ay ito po talagang si Guiang, dahil siya po ang kikitain at siya po ang talagang may motibo para patayin dahil gusto niya mabawi ‘yung kanyang isinanla na lupa na naremata na nga po at nasa pag-aari na po ni Geneva,” said PNP spokesperson Police Colonel Jean Fajardo.
(If there is anyone that may have motive to kill the two victims, it would be Guiang, because he was the one they were meeting and he was the only one with motive to kill them because he wanted to get back his pawned land that was already remitted and owned by Geneva.)
The person who located the bodies of the victims has also been placed under protective custody. — BM, GMA Integrated News
