DAVAO CITY (MindaNews / 07 January) – Davao-City based businessman Philip “Sonny” Dizon died at the provincial hospital in Digos City on Sunday, after the Can-Am three-wheel motorcycle he was driving crashed along the Bansalan-Balutakay Road in Davao del Sur at 11:46 a.m.
A report released by the Bansalan Municipal Police Station said the 64-year old Dizon, owner of the Davao Crocodil Park in Davao City, suddenly lost control of his motorcycle after he swerved to the opposite lane to avoid an approaching vehicle along Gumamela Street at the Bansalan-Balutakay Road.
His vehicle overturned and smashed into a concrete lane.
Dizon, who suffered serious injuries, was immediately taken by the responding team of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council to the Davao Del Sur Provincial Hospital where he died.
Aside from the crocodile park and zoon, Dizon’s business ventures include the Mt. Apo Highland Resort in Barangay Kapatagan, and Dizon Farms.
