The water level at Marikina River started going down on Sunday morning, prompting local authorities to announce that the alarm level has been downgraded from second to first.
At 6 a.m., the water level at Marikina River was at 15.7 meters (First Alarm), according to the Marikina Public Information Office.
All flood gates at Manggahan are open, it added.
Rains from the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) enhanced by Tropical Storm Falcon caused the water level at Marikina River to go up on Saturday.
The first alarm was first raised at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, then the second alarm was hoisted at 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
PAGASA said the Southwest Monsoon will still affect Metro Manila in the next three days. —KG, GMA Integrated News
