According to Janice Cueva Fernandez, the 40-year-old manager of the establishment, she was with two others manning the counter when a man they thought was a customer entered around 2 p.m.
She told police the man initially inquired about the price of a medicine before he pulled out a gun and announced a holdup.
Fearing for their safety, she said they immediately gave him the money in the cash register. After he took the cash, he immediately fled, she said.
Fernandez said the robber wore a white, long sleeve dri-fit shirt, black jogging pants and sandals. His face was partially covered by the helmet, which he did not take off, she added.
When police arrived at the scene, they found the weapon the perpetrator used, which turned out to be a toy gun.
Police are still trying to identify the robber. BBT
