During the launching of the bivalent Covid-19 vaccination program at the Cebu Doctor’s University Hospital on Monday, June 26, Rama stated that no government funds were used during the activity.
When asked who paid for it, he responded, “Wala, wala. Ayaw nalang mo’g pangutana kay mangutang ko unya paninglan tamo, kabayad mo’s akong utang? Ayaw ninyo labara inyong ulo ana, ako nang responsibility and that was not the first time.”
(No, no. Don’t ask me because I’m going to get a loan and I’ll ask you to pay, will you be able to pay it? Don’t be bothered by it, that’s my responsibility and that wasn’t the first time).
“No, it was not a show of force. I don’t want to elaborate..you think all of these people will find their way (to Boracay) kon wala pay ni move nila?” the mayor added.
About 200 barangay leaders, including 80 incumbent barangay captains, were invited by Rama to Boracay starting last Friday, June 23, until Sunday evening, June 25.
Rama asserted that as a public servant who has been working for the government for the past 31 years, or since 1992, he was knowledgeable about what he did.
According to reports, the mayor used the weekend trip to demonstrate his impartiality in the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections. (PAC, TPT)
