An 8-year-old girl sustained a head injury after allegedly being hit by a rider and his passenger following an argument with the child’s mother.
In a “24 Oras” report by Marisol Abdurahman on Tuesday, viral footage showed a man and a woman on a motorcycle following the female uploader, who was recording from inside a bajaj or a three-wheeled utility vehicle similar to a tricycle.
“Ayan oh sinusundan pa kami, sumusunod sa amin,” the woman can be heard saying in the video.
(Look, they are still tailing us; they’re following us.)
The man riding the motorcycle had only one hand on the handlebars while holding a mobile phone in his other hand to film the woman.
In a separate viral clip posted by the uploader, a young girl can be seen bleeding from her head while her mother shouts in panic.
According to the Antipolo City Police, the incident occurred around 5 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026.
Authorities said the altercation began when the mother and daughter were unable to board their ride because the motorcycle was blocking their path.
“Sinabi naman ng bata na papasok po ako paki ano po. Pero pangit yung pagkakasabi nung rider ng “hindi ako makaurong eh,” Antipolo City Police Investigation Section Chief P/Lt. Ken Ada-ol.
(The child asked politely, ‘Excuse me, I need to get through.’ But the rider rudely replied, ‘I can’t move back.’)
Ada-ol explained that to let the mother and child board, the bajaj driver pulled forward instead.
“Nabastusan siguro yung mother sinabihan na bastos yung rider then dun po nag-umpisa yung heated argument,” he added.
(Feeling offended by the response, the mother called the rider rude, which ignited the heated argument.)
The bajaj eventually drove off, but the two individuals on the motorcycle pursued them, shouting that they were not being rude because they were parents themselves.
“And then sinabing di kami bastos, may anak din po kami. Biglang may hard object o semento, naibato po dun sa tricycle at natamaan po yung bata,” Ada-ol said.
(They yelled, ‘We aren’t rude, we have children too.’ Suddenly, a hard object—a piece of concrete—was thrown at the tricycle, striking the child.)
The child suffered a bleeding head wound and was rushed to the hospital, where she required stitches.
Authorities quickly identified the two individuals on the motorcycle. Personnel from Barangay Dalig Uno, alongside police personnel, moved to locate them.
“Unfortunately, the suspects were no longer at their residence. As of now, we are checking if they have prior records here in the barangay,” said Brgy. Dalig councilor John Ashley Valle.
Meanwhile, the mother and daughter returned to the police station earlier today to formally file criminal complaints.
Law enforcement agencies are hunting for the suspects, who face charges of physical injuries or child abuse under Republic Act 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Land Transportation Office (LTO) issued a show-cause order summoning the motorcycle rider to appear on September 29 for various traffic violations, including failure to wear a protective helmet.
The rider’s driver’s license has been preventively suspended, and the motorcycle has been placed under alarm status. —Lyjah Tiffany Bonzo/LDF, GMA News
