More than 7.6 million people have been affected by the combined effects of Tropical Cyclones Luis, Maymay and Neneng, as well as the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) said Tuesday.
As of 6 a.m., the OCD reported around 2.2 million families or 7.6 million individuals across the following regions:
- Ilocos Region
- Cagayan Valley
- Central Luzon
- Bicol
- Western Visayas
- Zamboanga Peninsula
- CALABARZON
- Cordillera Administrative Region
- Metro Manila
- MIMAROPA
The OCD reported 29 deaths, 19 injuries, and three people missing due to the bad weather.
Fatalities were recorded in Benguet, La Union, Rizal, Batangas, Quezon City, Oriental Mindoro, Negros Occidental and Caloocan. Benguet recorded the highest number of deaths at 15.
A total of 8,624 families or 29,547 individuals were staying in 350 evacuation centers.
The weather disturbances damaged some 2,700 houses, of which 2,400 partially and 284 totally damaged.
Infrastructure damage has reached an estimated P5.1 billion, while agricultural losses were placed at P1.9 billion.
A total of 102 areas have been placed under a state of calamity:
