The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) is hunting down the suspect in a hit-and-run incident that killed a 21-year-old jeepney driver while he was changing a flat tire along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City early Monday, April 13.
Police said the victim was fixing a flat tire of his passenger jeepney near Ylanan Street in Barangay UP Campus at around 1 a.m.
He was later struck by a speeding vehicle coming from the direction of Elliptical Road.
The victim suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the East Avenue Medical Center, where he was declared dead on arrival at around 1:37 a.m., authorities said.
The QCPD has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to identify the suspect vehicle.
The team is conducting CCTV footage review, forward tracing, and coordination with witnesses and concerned agencies.
Authorities urged the public to report any information that could help identify and locate the suspect.
Reports may be coursed through the nearest police station, the E911 hotline, or the QC Helpline 122 as the investigation continues.
