In a vibrant celebration of youthful creativity and storytelling, Anak TV successfully concluded the first batch of its highly anticipated Sinebata Workshop. Held over three intensive days, the workshop gathered children from various schools, including Commonwealth Elementary and High School and San Francisco Elementary and High School, equipping them with the tools to translate their unique perspectives into compelling short films under the unifying theme, “Hear My Voice.”
Day 1: Igniting the Creative Spark
The workshop began with open hearts and curious minds, as participants were introduced to the foundational elements of visual storytelling. Facilitated by Ms. Danie Sedilla-Cruz and esteemed director Mr. Paolo Ramos, Day 1 was dedicated to discovering that stories can be told with purpose, creativity, and heart.
Through engaging sessions, the children explored the basics of Mise-en-Scène, camera angles, and framing. More than just technical concepts, Day 1 established a supportive space where every child was encouraged to find their unique narrative voice.
Knowledge Channel Foundation Inc. and GMA Network Inc. also provided merchandise for workshop participants as prizes for ice-breaker activity which boosts the enthusiasm of children.
Day 2: Lights, Camera, Action!
Day 2 shifted gears from theory to practical application. The morning began with Director Paolo leading an engaging session on camera movement—mastering the pan, tilt, and follow shot—alongside the essentials of editing, sequencing, and utilizing music and graphics to enhance cinematic impact.
Before grabbing their cameras, groups huddled with their mentors to map out shot lists and sketch detailed storyboards. In a crucial pre-production moment, the children presented their concepts to Ms. Danie and Director Paolo, receiving final guidance and a boost of confidence before heading out to shoot their 2-minute films.
The afternoon buzzed with energy as the children stepped into their roles as directors, cinematographers, and actors, bringing their storyboards to life. Following the shoot, the teams moved directly into post-production, applying their newfound editing skills to piece their footage together and amplify their intended message.
The day concluded with a distinguished panel of judges convening to deliberate on the final outputs. The panel included:

Day 3: Celebrating the Voices of Tomorrow
The final day was a moving showcase of the children’s hard work. The morning began with a touching Opening Reflection, where participants shared their personal journeys, the challenges they overcame, and the joy of collaboration.
During the Graduation Ceremony, the lights went down, and the two-minute films generated over the weekend lit up the big screen. The pride on the children’s faces was palpable as their visual narratives were met with applause from peers, mentors, and the Anak TV board.
Anak TV President Ms. Elvira Yap Go delivered a deeply inspirational message, reminding the young filmmakers that the positive messages they create do not end with the workshop. She urged them to realize their potential as guiding “lights in their own homes,” encouraging kindness and purpose in their everyday lives.

The workshop culminated in the Sinebata Awards Ceremony, recognizing outstanding individual performances, technical skill, and collaborative spirit.
