The Consular Corps of the Philippines celebrated its historic 50th Annual Consular Ball last Dec. 6, 2025, held at the Makati Shangri-La in Makati City. The evening was graced by the presence of First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos, whose attendance lent distinction to a celebration devoted to diplomacy, unity and 50 years of service to the international community.
A key highlight of the evening was the symbolic turnover of the deanship from outgoing dean, Belgium Consul General Fabio Pompetti, to incoming dean, Gambia Honorary Consul Agnes Huibonhoa. The ceremonial handover marked a meaningful transition in the Corps’ leadership, emphasizing continuity, unity, and a shared commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties.
The ball also featured the presentation of the Consular Corps’ Distinguished Awardees: Capt. Stanley Ng of Philippine Airlines Inc., Consular Luminary Award; Kevin L. Tan of Alliance Global Group, Inc., Pillar of Generosity Award; and Ambassador Francis C. Chua of Ambassador Francis C. Chua Foundation Inc., Golden Visionary Sponsors Award.
As the Consular Corps marks its 50th year, the ball served as a symbol of gratitude for past achievements and an inspiration for future diplomatic endeavors.
