Some oil?loading operations in the United Arab Emirates’ Fujairah emirate have been suspended after a fire broke out at a key energy facility on Saturday, industry and trade sources said.
The blaze followed a drone incident in which debris fell in the area, igniting the fire, the emirate’s media office said. Civil defence teams were reported to be managing the situation, and no injuries have been reported.
Fujairah, located outside the strategic Strait of Hormuz, is a major bunkering hub and crude export terminal handling significant volumes of oil.
Disruptions there could affect regional energy logistics, though Reuters could not immediately determine the full impact on oil loadings.
The suspension comes amid heightened tensions in the Gulf, including retaliatory threats linked to recent military actions, but UAE authorities have not publicly commented on the operational halt.
State-owned Abu Dhabi energy firm ADNOC, which operates in Fujairah, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
