A Chinese man who allegedly misrepresented himself as a Filipino was nabbed at the Port of Batangas, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) announced.
Immigration authorities arrested the foreigner, identified as Zhi Ling Guan, on February 20, according to a report by Manny Vargas on dzBB Super Radyo.
The operation was conducted in coordination with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) and the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (ISAFP).
Zhi was also found to be using the alias “Mike Sy”. Authorities likewise said he was able to obtain a Philippine passport, which he allegedly used to travel to various countries.
The BI said Zhi will be deported. However, it remains unclear when he entered the country.
Zhi, has admitted to posing as Filipino and said he was a Chinese national operating a business in Mindoro. —Sundy Locus, GMA Integrated News
