Manila Vice Mayor Chi Atienza is recognized as one of the “People to Watch 2026” by Rising Tigers Magazine for her commitment to inclusive leadership that champions the welfare of every Manileño.

Atienza received the award during a ceremony at the Presidential Suite of The Manila Hotel on Tuesday, Feb. 10. The event acknowledged leaders from the government and business sectors who are considered “nation builders” for their dedication to their fields.
In her acceptance speech, the vice mayor said the award is a reminder of her duty to listen and serve.
“This award reminds me of my responsibility as a public servant to open my ears and my heart to the constituents who put me here,” Atienza said.
She also highlighted her role in the current administration, noting that the award pushes her to be more supportive and proactive as the vice mayor to Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso.
“It is also a reminder of my role as the vice mayor to a mayor who strives to make a mark; to be more supportive and more proactive in crafting laws to make the lives of our constituents better,” she added.
As Presiding Officer of the 13th City Council, Atienza shapes her leadership around compassion and inclusion, dedicating her term to the city’s most vulnerable and ensuring that every sector, from senior citizens, persons with disabilities, single parents, and workers, while ensuring that Muslim communities, the LGBTQIA+ sector, and animal welfare advocates have a strong voice in the city.
She also vowed to continue championing inclusive representation, making sure that every sector, especially the marginalized, is heard and empowered.
Rising Tigers also highlighted her work in translating these advocacies into policy, most notably her belief that a city truly thrives when its leaders are united and when its constituents are protected, represented, and heard.
