Undas 2025: Traffic buildup reported in parts of NLEX on Friday morning

Buildup of vehicles were reported in some parts of the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) on Friday morning during the Undas 2025 long weekend, according to its management.

GMA Integrated News’ James Agustin reported on Unang Balita that the buildup was observed at the NLEX Harbor Link Interchange up to Paso de Blas, Valenzuela northbound.

Counterflow lanes have been opened from Balintawak to Marilao, as well as from San Fernando to Dau as of 7 a.m.

In an 8 a.m. update, the NLEX Corporation said a road crash occurred on Candaba Viaduct northbound. The blockage was already cleared.

On Thursday, NLEX assistant vice president for traffic operations Robin Ignacio said heavier traffic is expected on Thursday or Friday due to the influx of travelers during the Undas season.

All lanes are now passable to motorists as road works and closures have been suspended in light of Undas.

From October 30 to November 3, NLEX offers free towing of stalled vehicles to the nearest exit from the expressway.

Ignacio advised motorists to secure Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) sticker for faster transaction at toll gates.

Ambulances have been deployed in the area in case of an emergency.

At the the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), meanwhile, the traffic flow remained light as of 7 a.m. —Joviland Rita/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
