“Jesus Christ Superstar” is coming to Manila in 2026!
The hit Broadway and West End musical is set to be staged at The Theater at Solaire in May, GMG Productions announced on their Facebook page.
“This acclaimed revival is celebrated for its electrifying staging and powerful performances, capturing the music, passion, and spectacle that made the Broadway hit a global phenomenon,” the announcement said.
“Jesus Christ Superstar” is a rock opera musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice. The two-act musical follows the Gospels of the Passion, or the final moments before the crucifixion of Jesus.
Well-known songs from the musical include “Superstar,” “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” and “Could We Start Again Please?”
The musical has been nominated at the Tony Awards and Laurence Olivier Awards.
