Residents in Cagayan de Oro City have raised concerns over uncollected trash piling up in neighborhoods, attributing the issue to new garbage trucks that cannot navigate narrow subdivision streets. Lydia Revilla, a maintenance personnel in Regency Plains Subdivision, noted that smaller trucks previously collected household trash, but the larger vehicles have forced residents to dump garbage by the roadside. She suggested providing trash bins in public areas to mitigate the problem. Netizens on Facebook also voiced frustrations, with Michael Mendez advising against scheduling garbage collection during rush hours due to narrow streets, while Noes Galang urged regular cleanup efforts. Susan Escobido from Barangay Camaman-an highlighted inconsistent collection schedules, leading to overflowing trash bins and illegal dumping by outsiders. Trash has accumulated along J.R. Borja Extension, visible to the public. The City Local Environment and Natural Resources Office (CLENRO) stated it is coordinating with relevant divisions to address public health and waste management concerns, with official statements pending from its Department Head.
