67 kilos of shabu worth ₱455.6M seized in Zamboanga
Police seized 67 kilos of suspected shabu worth ₱455.6 million after a chase with drug couriers that ended in a rice field in Zamboanga City last Tuesday night. Maj. Shellamie Chang, spokesperson of the Police Regional Office in the Zamboanga Peninsula, said officers set up a checkpoint in Barangay Bunguiao after receiving a tip. Upon spotting the police, suspects in an SUV refused to stop, leading to a pursuit that ended when their vehicle crashed into a rice field. Three individuals, including a woman and the driver, were arrested.
17 NPA landmines seized in South Cotabato
Army troops recovered 16 anti-personnel landmines abandoned by communist rebels in Sitio Bagong Silang, T’boli town, South Cotabato, last Wednesday. Lt. Col. Erikzen Dacoco, commander of the 105th Infantry Battalion, said the explosives were located with assistance from residents and militiamen, who identified them as belonging to New People’s Army Guerilla Front 72.
5 arrested in drug entrapment operation in Cotabato
Five drug den operators were apprehended in Cotabato City last Thursday during a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operation. PDEA-BARMM director Gil Cesario Castro confirmed the arrest after suspects sold 15 grams of shabu worth ₱102,000 to undercover agents.
