A delivery rider and a motorcycle taxi rider were both held up by weapon-wielding robbers in separate incidents in Barangay Santo Domingo, Quezon City.
According to Bea Pinlac’s “24 Oras Weekend” report on Sunday, the delivery rider was on his way home early Saturday morning when two riders on a motorcycle blocked him and pointed a gun at him.
They forced him to dismount and surrender an item. They then fled, with one of the robbers taking the delivery rider’s motorcycle. CCTV footage showed them heading for Del Monte Avenue, with another pair of motorcycle riders believed to be part of their group.
The victim flagged down a tricycle to report the incident to the barangay.
In the second incident, a motorcycle taxi rider was on G. Araneta Avenue early Friday morning when a person the suspect hailed the motorcycle taxi rider and told him he would be getting something from a nearby street.
According to barangay worker Camille Javier, the rider said the passenger had him driving in circles until they arrived at a dark street with no CCTV.
The suspect then pointed a sharp object at the victim before stealing the motorcycle.
Authorities are still investigating if the incidents are related.
