The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has issued an advisory on Saturday about a possible traffic buildup amid ongoing rehabilitation works along Bonifacio Drive-Northbound.
The DPWH said that its South Manila District Engineering Offic has already started the rehabilitation of damaged roadways and upgrade of the existing drainage system along Bonifacio Drive-Northbound on February 7, 2025 at 11 p.m.
The agency said the rehabilitation works will be done for six months, which will start with the closure of the first lane from the sidewalk, along Bonifacio Drive—Northbound, covering 147 linear meters to the intersection of P. Burgos Street until before the intersection of 25th Street.
It added that the remaining fourth lane will be repaired after the completion of the first lane to avoid further traffic congestion.
“Motorists are advised of traffic congestion during the repair period, and to use other lanes as alternate routes,” the DPWH said.
“Simultaneously, the upgrading of drainage system will be conducted on affected lanes not only to ensure road serviceability for motorists, but to also help prevent flooding in the area,” it added.
