CAGAYAN DE ORO — The ongoing upgrades of Laguindingan Airport like renovations and expansion of passenger terminal, installation of modern equipment, and operational improvements, is poised to attract international tourists, investors, and immigrants with the likelihood of leveling up its status into international pretty soon.
Today, Laguindingan Airport ranks as the sixth-busiest airport and the second-busiest in Mindanao, following Francisco Bangoy International Airport in Davao City.
That said, Cagayan de Oro now an emerging metropolis in Northern Mindanao has the capacity of achieving global status sooner than anticipated.
With the influx of big time Manila-based investors, this city of the South has finally found its niche, sans the puzzling local political scene as the mid-term election, set in May 2025, is around the corner.
The latest entry comes from a consortium of Megaworld and Global Estate Resorts set to develop a 117-hectare integrated lifestyle in the eastern highlands of the city.
These convergence of major infra projects are long been envisioned with the renaming of this southern city as Metro Cagayan de Oro.
