Marcos to agencies: Ensure durability of materials for infra projects

With the country still recovering from the onslaught of recent tropical cyclones, President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Wednesday tasked concerned government agencies to ensure the durability of materials for infrastructure projects.

During his visit to Legazpi City in Albay, Marcos said taking this action would make the infrastructure resilient against severe weather conditions.

(To the DPWH, the DOTr, the DTI, and other government agencies, ensure that the materials you are using for our infrastructure programs are durable so that they would last and withstand any kind of weather.)

The President also underscored the need to implement modern designs for roads and bridges nationwide due to the increasing frequency and intensity of typhoons.

(We all know that tropical cyclones have intensified and their effects have also worsened. That’s why, we are already implementing modern designs of our roads and bridges.)

The Office of the President (OP), through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), provided P50 million in financial aid to the province of Albay as it recovers from the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
